ONLY!

Puppet Bizarre’s Variety Show is a vaudeville style extravaganza showcasing marionettes & hand puppets. Each act features a unique character performing a song and dance number using music and props that bring each puppet to life. The show is hosted by professionally trained clown Laffypants, who provides witty banter and physical comedy between each puppet performance. Stay with us after the performance for Q&A, meet & greet and puppet demo!

Puppet Bizarre is an LA based puppet troupe specializing in marionettes, providing entertainment for children and adults of all ages.  Each marionette is one of a kind and hand crafted by lead puppeteer and creator Mirna Lozano. Mirna was trained at the Bob Baker Marionette Theater and has been building and performing since 2001. She is a long time member of Los Angeles Guild of Puppetry and has worked on a variety of projects such as music videos, live theater performances as well as custom builds.

ADULT SHOW!

ONE NIGHT ONLY!

Saturday, July 27, 7PM!
SugarB*tch Goulash!

Sugarbitch Goulash is the fiendish story of Helen Golay and Olga Rutterschmidt, the "Black Widow Murderers", an unlikely friendship with a macabre twist. Based on true accounts, Helen and Olga met in the mid 1980s in a woman's fitness center and formed a toxic bond that would carry them through 3 decades of petty crimes and cons, until their arrest on charges of mail fraud and an accidental confession of homicide caught on surveillance camera. Our story hilariously takes us through their nefarious acts and inevitable incarceration based on revelations during their 2007 Los Angeles trial. Join Helen and Olga through the years in this campy, comedic story, told with hand puppets, shadows, and beautifully carved stringed puppets, by Rasputin's Marionettes Matt Scott. Matt served as apprentice and right arm to legendary Los Angeles puppeteer Bob Baker, preserving Bob's historic theater and art of marionettes, and has performed across the country from the DeYoung museum in San Francisco to Basil Twist's Here Gallery in NYC. Proud to partner with the Marie Hitchcock Puppet Theater in San Diego for the first time, see the show that was the smash hit of the New Orleans Giant Puppet Festival in 2022 (act one) & 2024 (act two) and witness the almost true story of murder, greed, and self gout. You might just die laughing!
Suggested for mature audiences.
Running time 1:40, in two acts with intermission
